மத்திய மலைநாட்டில் பொகவந்தலாவ என்னும் சிறு நகரில் பிறந்தவர். இவரது இயற்பெயர் மகேந்திரன். தன் தந்தையின் பெயரையும் இணைத்து கொண்டு எழுதி வருகின்றார். ஆரம்பத்தில் சிறுகதை,கவிதைகள், தேசிய நாளேடுகளில் எழுதி வந்தவர். சினிமாவின் மேல் ஏற்பட்ட வேட்கையில் தமிழகம் சென்று தமிழக வெகுசன சினிமாவில் உதவி இயக்குனராகவும், திரைக்கதை பிரதியாக்கத்தின் பங்கேற்று சினிமாவின் மற்றொரு உலகமாகவும் மனித வாழ்வோடு நெருக்கமாகவும் உலவும் உலக சினிமா பற்றியும், பன்னாட்டு திரைப்பட விழாக்களுக்கு பார்வையாளனாகவும் சென்று வந்ததோடு, தமிழில் குறிப்பிடும் வகையில் நல்ல சினிமாவைப்பற்;றி எழுதியும்,பேசியும் நல்ல சினிமாவை மக்களிடம் கொண்டு செல்வதில் இவரது பங்களிப்பு கணிசமானது. “அறையின் தனிமை” என்ற இவரது குறும்படம் தமிழகத்தில் சிறந்த படமாக விருது பெற்றிருப்பதோடு, சினிமா குறித்தும் புத்தகங்கள், ஆவண திரைப்படம் சினிமா சஞ்சிகை என்று இவரின் பயணம் தொடர்கின்றது.

எழுத்தாளரும் கலைஞருமான மாரி மகேந்திரன்.
நுவரெலியா அம்பகமுவ பிரதேச செயலாளர் பிரிவு, பொகவந்தலாவ கிராமசேவகர் வசித்துவரும் மாரி மகேந்திரன் ஒரு எழத்தாளரும் கலைஞருமாவார். சுக்கிரன், மாரிமகேந்திரன், சங்கமித்தா,சுதா, ஆகிய பெயர்களில் எழுதிவரும் இவர்,
1974ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜுலை மாதம் 22 ஆம் திகதித சுக்கிரன் மாரி, சரஸ்வதி தம்பதியினரின் புதல்வராக டிபாகவந்தலாவையில் பிறந்தார். மாரிமகேந்திரன் தனது ஆரம்பக் கல்வியை பொகவந்தலாவ ஹொலிரோசல் தமிழ் மகா வித்தயாலயத்திலும் இடைநிலைக் கல்வியை கண்டி அசோக வித்தியாலயத்திலும், உயர்தரக்கல்வியை கம்பளை ஸாஹிராக் கல்லுரியிலும் பெற்றார். தற்போது இவர் வீரகேசரி வார இதழில் உதவி ஆசிரியராக பணியாற்றி வருகிறார்.(2008 -2009)
கல்லுரியில் கற்கும் காலத்திலிருந்தே கலையார்வமும், வாசிப்புத்துறை ஆர்வமும் இவருக்கு இயல்பாகவே அமைந்திருந்தது. 1990 ஆம் ஆண்டு ”மனிதர்கள்” எனும் தலைப்பில் இவரது முதல் சிறுகதை தினகரன் வாரமஞ்சரியில் பிரசுரமானது.
இதைத்தொடர்ந்து இதுவரை 25க்கும் மேற்பட்ட சிறுகதைகளும், 150க்கும் மேற்பட்ட கவிதைகளையும், 100க்கும் மேற்பட்ட சினிமாக் கட்டுரைகளையும் எழுதியுள்ளார். இவரின் இத்தகைய ஆக்கங்கள் தினகரன், தினக்குரல், வீரகேசரி, போன்ற தேசிய பத்திரிகைகளிலும், புதிய காற்று, தாமரை, ஜனனி, மற்றும் தமிழகத்திருத்து வெளிவரும் நிழல் போன்ற சங்சிகைகளிலும், தமிழ் சினிமா.காம் இனணய பத்திரிகையிலும் இடம்பெற்றுள்ளது. லண்டன் புதினம் பத்திரிகை சர்வதேச ரீதியில் நடத்திய சிறுகதைப் போட்டியில் இவரது“ புதிய கதவுகள்“எனும் சிறுகதை சிறந்த சிறுகதையாக தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டதுடன் புதினம் பரிசுக் கதைகள் தொகுப்பிலும் இடம்பெற்றுள்ளது. அதேபோல வீரகேசரி பவளவிழா சிறுகதைத் தொகுதியில்“ வீடும் அது சார்ந்த அறைகளும்“ எனும் இவரின் சிறுகதை பிரசுரமாகியுள்ளது.
இவரின் எட்டு சிறுகதைகள் உள்ளடங்கிய முதலாவது சிறுகதைத் தொகுதி புதிய கதவுகள் எனும் தலைப்பில் ஞானம் வெளியீடாக அண்மையில் வெளிவந்தது. இத்தொகுதியில் இம்பெற்றுள்ள அனைத்து கதைகளும் தினகரனில் பிரசுரமானவையாகும்.
மேலும் திரைப்படதுறை சார்ந்த நூலொன்றினையும் வெளியிடும் நடவடிக்கையை மேற்கொண்டுள்ளார்.
நமக்கான சினிமா என்ற நூலை வம்சி புக்ஸ் வெளியிட்டது.
அதேநேரம் அகசலனம் எனும் தலைப்பில் கவிதைச் சிற்றிதழ் ஒன்றையும் ஆசிரியராகவிருந்து இவர் வெளியிட்டுள்ளார்.புடைப்பிலக்கியத்துறையியைப் பார்கிலும் திரைப்படத்துறையிலே இவருக்கு ஆர்வமும், ஈடுபாடும் அதிகம். இது பற்றி மனம் திறந்து தன்னுடைய கருத்தைத் தெரிவிக்கையில்,
5ஆம் வகுப்பில் நான் பார்த்த இயேசுநாதர்பற்றிய திரைப்படம் நசரேத் ஒப் ஜிஸஸ் சினிமா எனது வாழ்வில் திருப்பத்தை ஏற்படுத்தியது. அதிலிருந்து சினிமாவின் மேல் பெரும் காதல் எழுந்தது. இத்தோடு அம்சன் குமாரின் சினிமா ரசனை என்ற நூல் சினிமா பற்றிய சரியான பார்வையை எனக்குள் தூண்டியது. சலனம் என்ற சினிமா சஞ்சிகை நல்ல சினிமா உலகத்தையும், தேடலையும் தந்தது.
அத்தோடு ரூபவாஹினியில் சத்தியஜித்ரேயின் படங்களும், குரோசாவின் படங்களும், சிங்கள படங்களும், சிங்கள தொலைக்காட்சி தொடர்களும் எனக்குள் அக மாற்றத்தை ஏற்படுத்தியது.
சினிமா பற்றிய கனவு வளர்ந்தது. உயர்தர கலைப்பிரிவில் கற்றுக்கொண்டிருந்த போது சினிமா வெறியில் தமிழகம் சென்றேன்.அதன் பின்பு நான் வளர்ந்த சூழலுக்கும் நான் சந்தித்த சினிமா உலகமும் எனக்குள் அந்நியமாக தோன்றியது. ஆத்தோடு பயிற்சிக்காகவும், திரை தொழில் நுணுக்கத்தை தெரிந்து கொள்ளவும் பல வர்த்தக படங்களில் பணிபுரிந்தேன். மிக மோசமான அனுபவங்களை பெற்றேன். ஆனால், சென்னை சென்ற பின் முதல் முதலாக திரைபபட சங்கங்களைத் தேடி நல்ல சினிமாவையும், உலக சினிமாவை பார்ப்பதற்கும், கலந்துரையாடலின் மூலம் தீவிர சினிமாவுக்கான தேடல் வளர்ந்தது. நல்ல சினிமா பற்றிய தேடல் இருப்பவனுக்கு தமிழ் சினிமா எந்த விதத்திலும் உதவாது என்ற விரக்தியோடு மீண்டும் எனது தாயகம் திரும்பினேன் என்ற கூறுன்றார்.
1996ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்தியா சென்ற இவர் சுமார் ஒராண்டு காலம் ராஜ் தொலைக்காட்சியில் உதவி ஒளிப்பதிவாளராக கடமையாற்றியுள்ளார். இக்காலக்கட்டத்தில் திரைப்படத்துறை சார்தோருடன் ஏற்பட்ட தோடர்பு காரணமாக கதாசிரியர் ஆர்.செல்வராஜ், தங்கர்பச்சான் ஆகியோருடன் இணைந்து சில திரைப்படங்களுக்கு வசன கர்த்தாவின் உதவியாளராக பணியாற்றியுள்ளார்.

இக்கால கட்டத்தில் பொட்டு அம்மன், தாஜ்மஹால், வாட்டக்குடி இரணியன், உப்பு, ஆகிய திரைப்படங்கள் குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. பின்பு அமுதன் என்ற இயககுனரிடம் உதவி இயக்குனராக“ ரகசியமாய்“ என்ற தமிழ் திரைப்படத்தில் பணியாற்றினார். இத்திரைப்படத்திலே இவர் முழுமையாக ஒரு தரைப்படத்தில் உதவி இயக்குனராக பணியாற்றயமை குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
ரகசியமாய் திரைப்படத்தின் …..
பின்பு 2002 ஆம் ஆண்டில் ஜோசப் செல்வராஜ், கீரா.மூர்த்தி ஆகியோரிடன் தமிழு, கனவானவன், ஆகிய குறும்படங்களில் உதவி இயக்குனராக பணிபுரிந்துள்ளார். 2000 ஆம் ஆண்டில் எ.வி.எம் நிறுவனம் தயாரித்த ஆர்த்தி, கீதாஞ்சலி, ஆகிய தொலைக்காட்சி தொடர்களில் உதவி திரைக்கதையாசியராக பணிப்புரிந்துள்ளார்.
அதேநேரம், இந்தியாவில் காலத்துக்குக் காலம் நடைபெற்றவரும் சர்வதேச திரைப்பட விழாக்களில் பத்திரிகையாளராக பங்கேற்றுள்ளார்.
இவரது இயக்கத்தில் வெளிவந்த குறுந்திரைப்படம் “அறையின் தனிமை“ என்பதாகும். குறைந்தபட்சமான செலவை கொண்டும், கிடைத்த தொழில்நுட்பத்தைக் கொண்டும் காலச்சுவடு சஞ்சிகையில் ஹவி எழுதிய தீட்டு என்ற சிறுகதையை தழுவியே அறையின் தனிமை என்ற குறும்படத்தை இவர் இயக்கியுள்ளார். 20 நிமிடங்களைக் கொண்ட இத்திரைப்படம் வசனங்கள் மிகக் குறைந்திருந்தமை குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. இக்குறுந்திரைப்படம் திருப்பூர் குறுந்திரைப்பட விழாவில் சிறந்த குறுந்திரைப்படமாக விருது பெற்றது. ஆத்தோடு குறம்பட பிரதி சென்னை புத்தக திருவிழாவில் விற்பனை செய்யப்பட்டது.
திரைப்பட விழாக்களில் பார்வையாளராகக் கலந்துகொண்ட அனுபவங்களையும், சர்வதேச சினிமா கலைஞர்களுடன் நேர்காணல்களை பதிவுகள் செய்து அதனூடாகப் பெற்ற அனுபவங்களையும் வைத்து உலக சினிமாக்களையும் நம் தமிழ் சமுகத்திடம் இனம்காட்ட வேண்டும் என்ற வேட்கையுடன் செயல் பட்டு வரும் இவர், மலையகத்தில் முதல் திரைப்பட சங்கமான அட்டன் ஃபிலிம் சொசைட்டியை ஆரம்பித்து தரமான திரைப்படங்களை திரையிடுவதுடன், தரமான திரைப்படங்களை பற்றிய கருத்துக்களை மக்கள் முன் வைத்து செயல்பட்டு வருகின்றார்.

நல்ல சினிமா பற்றி இவர் எழுதிய 20 வார தொடர் கட்டுரை தினக்குரல் வாரமஞ்சரியில் ஈழ சினிமா – சில குறிப்புகள் எனும் தலைப்பில் பிரசுரமானது, இக்கட்டுரைத் தொடர் ஒரு சிறந்த சினிமா பற்றிய எண்ணக் கருக்களை வாசகர்களுக்கு தெளிவுப்படுத்துவதாக அமைந்திருந்தது. தன்னுடைய இலக்கயத்துறை, பத்திரிகைத்றை, கலைத்துறை ஆகியவற்றுக்குக் காரணகர்த்தாக்களாக இருந்தவர்கள் எனற அடிப்படையில் தனது பள்ளி அதிபர் தமிழறிஞர் சி.நடராஜா அவர்களையும், சினிமாவில் முன்னோடி இயக்குனர் பாலுமகேந்திராவையும். அந்தனிஜிவா, நண்பர் நித்தியானந்தன், தங்கர்பச்சான், ஹவி, விஸ்வாமித்திரன்,சிவகுமார் கணேஷ், இளம் பரிதி, ஆகியோரையும் இன்றும் நினைவு கூர்ந்துவருகின்றார்.

இவ்வுலகில் என்னைத் தவிர நேசிப்பதற்கு வேறு எவருமே இல்லை என்ற வகையில், இயேசு என்னை நேசிக்கிறார். அகஸ்தீன்
மனுஷன் உலகம் முழுவதையும் ஆதாயப்படுத்திக்கொண்டாலும்இ தன் ஜீவனை நஷ்டப்படுத்தினால் அவனுக்கு லாபம் என்ன?
மனுஷன் தன் ஜீவனுக்கு ஈடாக என்னத்தைக் கொடுப்பான்?

சினிமா என்ற ஓர் வஸ்து எனக்குள் எப்படி வேர்கொண்டது என்பதைப் பற்றி நான் அடிக்கடி சிந்திப்பதுண்டு. என்னை சினிமாவுக்குள் இழுத்து சென்றது எது? ஏன் சினிமாவை, கலையை வாழ்வாக ஆக்கிக்கொள்ள துணிவு ஏற்பட்டது. சினிமாவை வாழ்வாக ஆக்கிக் கொண்டதனால் இழந்தவைகள் அனேகம் ஆனாலும்.
சினிமா என்கிற வசீகரிக்கும் ஆயுதம் என் இருதயத்தை பிடித்து இழுத்து சென்றது ஏன்? எது?. எல்லோரிடமும் ஒரு பெலவீனம் உண்டு. அது போல் என்னிடத்திலும் சினிமா ஒரு பெலவீனமாகத்தான் குடிகொண்டுள்ளது. சினிமாவில் நான் பெரிதாக சொல்லிக்கொள்ளும் படி சாதிக்கவில்லை. (அது கூட நல்லதற்குத்தான் என்பது வேறு விடயம்) ஆனால் இந்த சினிமாவின் மீது எனக்குள்ள ஆசை வர காரணமாக இருந்தவர் யார்? இந்த கேள்விக்கான பதிலை நான் கண்டடைய சுமார் ஒரு 20 வருடத்தையும் தாண்டி செலவளித்து விட்டேன். இதற்கான பதிலை நான் கண்ட போதுதான். எனக்குள் ஒரு ஒளி உட்புகுந்து என்னை பெலப்படுத்தியது. அந்த பதில் இதுதான்.
நசரேத்தூர் இயேசு ((JESUS OF NAZARETH) ) இந்த திரைப்படம் தான் என் வாழ்க்கையை திரைப்படத்துறை நோக்கி அழைத்து சென்றது. திரைப்படத்தை கண்ணும் கருத்துமாக நேசிக்க வைத்தது. இப்படம் 1977 ஆம் ஆண்டு உருவாக்கப்பட்டது. இப் படத்தை ஃவிறாங்கோ ஸெவிஹெல்வி என்ற இயக்குநர் உருவாக்கியிருந்தார். இதில் இயேசு நாதராக ஹொபேட் போவேல் நடித்திருந்தார். 397 நிமிடங்கள் கொண்ட இத்திரைக் காவியம் பார்ப்பவர்களின் இதய கிடங்கை வலுவாக தாக்க கூடியது. இத் திரைப்படம் இன்று வரை இரண்டாம், மூன்றாம், நான்காம் பாகம் வரை வெளிவந்துவிட்டது. ஆனால் நான் எனது பள்ளிக்காலத்தில் பார்த்த முதல் திரைக்காவியம் இப்படம் தான். இத்திரைப்படம் என்றும் என் வாழ் நாளில் மறக்கவே முடியாத படிக்கு மானசீகமானதொரு வலியை என் விபரம் புரியாத வயதில் ஏற்படுத்தியிருந்ததை இன்றும் மறக்க முடியவில்லை. திரைப்படம் என்ற போது பொதுவாக மக்களின் மனதை தாக்க கூடியதுதான். ஆனால் ‘திரைப்படம்’ என்ற அளவில் இப்படம் என் மனதை தாக்கவில்லை. இயேசுவின் சிலுவைப்பாடுகள், அதைக் காட்சிப்படுத்தும் விதம், அவரின் சுவிஷேசம், யூதாசின் காட்டிக்கொடுப்பு என்று இன்றும் என் மன கண்ணிலிருந்து பிரிக்க முடியாத படிக்கு இப்படம் என்னுள் என் மனசாட்சிகளை விழிக்க வைக்கிறது. இயேசுவின் கல்வாரியின் இரத்தம் பாவிகளின் இருதயத்தையே ஒரு கணம் ஸ்தம்பிதம்படுத்தும். நான் இப்படத்தை பார்க்கும் போது ஆண்டு 2 அல்லது 3இல் தான் கல்வி கற்றிருப்பேன். இப்படத்தை யுழுபு சபையினால் தான் பாடசாலையில் திரையிட்டிருந்தார்கள். அன்றைய நாளில் மழை பெய்து இருந்தது. படத்தை பார்த்துவிட்டு நான் வீட்டிற்கு சென்ற போது அம்மா ஏன் தம்பி இப்படி மழையில் நனைந்துகொண்டு வருகிறாய். என்று கேட்டுவிட்டு எங்கே குடை என்ற போதுதான் எனக்கு நான் மழையில் நனைந்தது தெரிய வந்தது. அந்த வயதில் நான் கொண்டு போயிருந்த அந்த கருப்பு குடை தொலைந்து போய்விட்டது. பசுமையும், இளமையும் மாறாத என் பால்ய வயதில் இளம் பிராயத்தில் தொலைக்க முடியாத இயேசுவின் அன்பு மழையை சுவைக்க தெரிந்திருந்ததே என்பதை நினைக்கும் போது, இன்றும் மறக்க முடியாது. இந்த திரைப்படத்திற்கு பின்பு தான் நான் சினிமாவின் மீது மோகம் கொண்டேன். இதன் தொடர்ச்சியாக நல்ல திரைப்படங்களை தேடிப்பார்க்க தொடங்கிய காலங்கள் இதுவரை சினிமாவுக்கான புள்ளியை எண்ணில் விதைத்தவர் இயேசுவே.
ஆனால் அதற்கு பின்பு நான் சினிமா மீது கொண்ட காதலினால் தமிழ் சினிமாவில் எப்படியாவது நுழைந்து ஒரு நடிகனாக வர நினைத்தேன். ஆனாலும் நடிகனாக அழகு வேண்டும் என்ற ஒரே காரணத்தினால் இயக்குனராக வரலாம் என்பதற்கான முயற்சியுடன் இந்தியாவிற்கு சென்று திரைப்படத் துறையில் முயற்சி செய்யலாம் என்பதற்கான உத்வேகத்துடன் தமிழ் நாட்டிற்கு 1996 ஆம் ஆண்டு பயணமானேன். நல்ல சினிமா மீது எனக்கிருந்த ஈடுபாடு அங்கு சென்ற பின்பு சிறிது சிறிதாக உடைய ஆரம்பித்தது. இந்த உடைவு என்பது வெறுமனே நோக்கத்தை மட்டுமல்ல வாழ்வின் மீதும் வெறுமையை சூழச் செய்தது. அண்மையில் எனது நண்பர் அசினுடன் ஓர் நேர்காணலில் தமிழ் சினிமாவை உருவாக்குவது இலகுவானது….. ஆனால் தமிழ் சினிமாவின் மீது கட்டி வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும் நிறுவன நிலைபாடு தான் நல்ல சினிமாவையோ, சாதாரண சினிமாவையோ உருவாக்க கால தாமதத்தை தருகின்றது. அத்தோடு ஒரு Manager Ak;> ManagementIம் தெரிந்து கொள்ளத்தான் பல வருடங்கள் கடந்து விடுகின்றது என்கிற உண்மை சத்தியமானது என்பதை விட அது தான் உண்மையும் கூட. தமிழ் சினிமாவில் இயங்குவதற்கு ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும், பாரத்தை தருவதும் இந்த மனோபாவம் தான். அதனால்தான் இந்த மனிதர்கள் போலவே அவர்களின் சினிமாவும் பாவத்தை உருவாக்கும் ஊற்றாக இருக்கின்றது. தமிழ் சினிமா பெரும் பாவ சாபத்தை சாதாரண மனிதனின் வாழ்வில் வைத்து சென்று விடுவதோடு சாத்தானின் ஆயுதமாகவும் உள்ளதை நாம் எப்போதும் அறிவோம். பாவத்தை தேடும் பாவிகளாக மாற்றும் இயக்குனர்களுக்கும்;, தயாரிப்பாளர்களுக்கும் தாம் செய்வது பாவம் என்பதை எப்போது தான் அறிவார்களோ.
தமிழ் நாட்டிலிருந்த அந்த காலங்களில் தமிழ் சினிமாவில் ஒரு உதவியாளனாக இயங்கினாலும், மனசாட்சிக்கு விரோதமாக ஏதோ ஒரு தவறை செய்வதாக எனக்குள் ஏதோவொன்று பேசினாலும், பயணம் தொடர்ந்தது. சில படங்களிலும், சில தொலைக்காட்சி தொடர்களிலும் சென்று வேலை செய்தாலும் மனதில் சந்தோஷம் என்பதோ, சமாதானம் என்பதோ கொஞ்சமும் இல்லாமல் இருப்பதை உணர முடிந்தது. ஆசையோடும், இலட்சியத்தோடும், சினிமாவை விருப்பதோடும் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டாலும் மனதில் அமைதி இழந்தவனாக, பைத்தியக்காரனாக, பரதேசியாக ஏமாற்றப்பட்டவனாக உதாசீனப்படுத்தப்பட்;ட ஒரு பாண் துண்டாக, ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளவோ, சகித்துக்கொள்ளவோ முடியாதவனாக எல்லா இடங்களிலிருந்தும் துரத்தியடிக்கப்பட்ட மனதுடன் ஆத்மாவை தொலைத்து நிம்மதி இழந்தவனாக அலைந்த நாட்கள் அதிகம். வேலையேதும் செய்ய முடியாத படிக்கு என் சோம்பலும், அதீதமான கருத்துக்களும் மாயை தந்து திருப்தி படுத்த பார்த்தது. கோயில், அத்வைதம், ஞானமடைதல், ஓஷோ, மெய்யுணர்வு, யோகாசனம், தியானம் என்று பல்வேறு வழிகளிலும் புத்தியை செலுத்தினாலும் அமைதிக்கான இடம் எங்குமே புலப்படவில்லை. விரக்தி, வேதனை, தனிமை, அன்புக்காக ஏங்கும் மனத்தோடு சொல்ல முடியாத துயரத்தோடு அலைந்தேன். வேதாகமத்தில் பிரசங்கியின் வார்த்தைகள் பேசுவது போல்
ஞானத்தை அறிகிறதற்கும், பைத்தியத்தையும்
மதியீனத்தையும் அறிகிறதற்கும், நான் என்
மனதை பிரயோகம் பண்ணினேன். இதுவும்
மனதுக்குச் சஞ்சலமாயிருக்கிறது என்று கண்டேன்.

மனதை திருப்திபடுத்தும் முயற்சியில் அலைந்த அலைச்சலில் உடலும் மனதும் தன் நிலையை இழந்து, வாழ்க்கை மீதும் மனிதர்கள் மீதும் விரக்தியும், வெறுப்புணர்வும், தோல்வி மனோபாவமும் என்னை தற்கொலையை நோக்கி செலுத்திக்கொண்டிருந்த போது தான் மீண்டும் நான் அம்மாவை பார்க்க வேண்டும் என்ற எண்ணம் என்னுள் ஏற்பட்டது. மீண்டும் 8 வருட காலத்திற்கு பின்பு வீட்டிற்கு திரும்பினேன். வீடு கொஞ்சம் மன பாரத்தையும், வலியையும் தீர்த்தாலும். மறுபடியும் ஏதோ ஒரு துயரம் வருமோ என்பதற்கான நிலையுடன் திருமணம் இன்னுமொரு துயரத்தை தரும் என்பது தெரியாமலேயே அதனுள் விழுந்தேன். பசி, பட்டினி, என்ற வேதனையோடு அலைந்த நாட்களில் ஏதோவொரு தைரியம் இருந்தது. ஆனால் திருமணம் மனதின் தைரியத்தையும், தன்னம்பிக்கையையும் சுக்குநூறாக உடைத்தெரிந்தது. எல்லாம் தகர்ந்து நிர்க்கதியான நிலையில் ‘வெறுமை’ சூனியம் சூழ நான் வாழ்க்கையை முடித்துக்கொள்ளும் எண்ணத்துடன் முன் வந்து நினறேன்.
‘பதவி ஆசைக்காக உழைத்தவர் உச்சம் கண்டதில்லை!
பணத்திற்காக உழைத்தவர் வரவும் கண்டதில்லை!
மனிதனுக்காக உழைத்தவர் மகிழ்ச்சி கண்டதில்லை!
ஸ்தாபனங்களுக்காக உழைத்தவர் சமாதானம் பெற்றதில்லை!
கொள்கைக்காக உழைத்தவர் பலன் கண்டதில்லை!
இம்மையில் நன்மை தேடி உழைத்தவர் பரிசுகள் பார்த்ததில்லை!
கிறிஸ்துவின் நாமத்திற்காக உழைத்தவர் பயம் அறிந்ததில்லை!
நி;த்திய பாக்கியத்திற்காக உழைத்தவர் வெட்கம் அடைந்ததில்லை!

வாழ்க்கையை தொடர்ந்தும் நரகமாக்கிக்கொண்டதன் முடிவாகத்தான் திருமண உறவு அமைந்தது. உணர்வுகளையெல்லாம் அது தாக்கி தன்மையை நோக்கி என்னை அழைத்து சென்ற போது இயேசுவின் அன்பு மாத்திரம் தான் என்னுள் இருந்த பாரத்தை இறக்கி வைக்க உறுதுணையாக கிடைத்த இறுதி சரணாகதி. கிட்டத்தட்ட இயேசுவோடு என் உறவு பல வருடங்களாக தொடர்ந்து வந்திருந்த உணர்வை ஆண்டவர் என்னை தொட்ட போது உணர்த்தினார். இதுவரை கண்டிராத சமாதானம் உலகின் பெயரால் ஏற்படவில்லை. தேவனின் பெயரால் ஏற்பட்;டது. தேடி வந்து அன்பு செய்த தேவன் எனக்குள் இரட்சிப்பை தந்தார்.
இதனால் நான் சந்தித்திராத பெரிய பலத்த சந்தோஷம், நிம்மதி, சமாதானம் எனக்குள் பற்றிப் படர்வதையும் என் துக்கங்கள் எல்லாம் சந்தோஷமாக மாறுவதையும் என் இருதயம் சந்தோஷத்தின் வாசலில் நின்றும் என் தகப்பனின் என்றும் மாறாத அன்பின் தழும்பில் மூடிக்கொள்வதையும், இரட்சிப்பின் மகிமையையும் என்னால் எப்படி வார்த்தைகளில் சொல்லி விட முடியும். இயேசுவின் பரிசுத்த அன்புக்கு முன்பு மனித வார்த்தைகளும், மொழிகளும், அருகதையற்று போவதை நான் பல்வேறு தருணங்களில் அடைக்கப்பட்ட ஸ்தம்பிதமான மனோநிலையுடனும், கண்ணீர் பெருக்கெடுக்கும் அந்த தேவ அன்புக்கு முன்பு என் எல்லா நியாயங்களும் தேவனிடம் சரணாகதி அடைகின்றது.
‘ உனக்குண்டான எல்லாவற்றையும் விட்டு விட்டு வெறுங்கையனாக என்னிடம் வா. நான் எனது விலையேறப்பெற்ற இரத்தத்தை கொடுத்து சம்பாதித்த அந்த இரட்சிப்பை உனக்கு இலவசமாக தருகிறேன்!’ என்ற இயேசுவின் வார்;த்தைகள் சத்தியத்தின் ஒளி. இருளின் குழந்தைகளாக வாழும் பாவிகளின் மீட்பர் இயேசு.

இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் வாழ்கை நிகழ்வுகளின் அடிப்படையில் நாடக ஆவணப்பட முறையில் உருவாக்கப்பட்ட இயேசு (JESUS) திரைப்படம், 1979ல் தயாரிக்கப்பட்டு, அதற்குப் பின்னர் 1,400க்கும் மேற்பட்ட மொழிகளில் மொழியாக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டு இருக்கிறது. வரலாற்றில் இதுவரையில் அதிகமாக மொழியாக்கம் செய்யப்பட்ட மற்றும் அதிகமாகப் பார்க்கப்பட்ட திரைப்படம் இதுவேயாகும். “The Purpose Driven Life,” என்ற புத்தகத்தை எழுதிய போதகர். ரிக் வாரன் அவர்கள் கூறுகையில், ‘இயேசு’ திரைப்படமே, இது வரையிலும் கண்டு பிடிக்கப்பட்ட சுவிசேஷ உபகரணங்களில் மிக திறமையான ஒன்று” என்று கூறுகிறார்.450க்கும் மேற்பட்ட சமயத் தலைவர்கள் மற்றும் அறிஞர்கள் இந்த திரைக்கதையின் வரலாற்று மற்றும் வேதாகமத் துல்லியத்தன்மையை பகுத்தாய்வு செய்திருக்கிறார்கள். இந்த திரைக்கதையானது அதிகமாக லூக்கா நற்செய்தி நூலின் அடிப்படையில் அமைந்திருக்கிறது. ஆகவே இயேசு பேசும் ஒவ்வொரு வார்த்தையும் வேதாகமத்திலிருந்து வருகிறது. 2,000 வருடங்களுக்கு முந்தைய யூதேய மற்றும் ரோம கலாச்சாரங்களை சித்தரிக்க, கடும் முயற்சி எடுக்கபட்டிருக்கிறது. அவையாவன: அக்காலத்தில் உபயோகபடுத்தபட்ட வெறும் 35 வண்ணங்களையே கொண்டு கையால் நெய்யப்பட்ட துணி, முதலாம் நூற்றாண்டில் பின்பற்றின முறையின்படி செய்த மண்பாண்டங்கள், தொலைபேசி மற்றும் மின் கம்பங்களையும் திரைகாட்சிகளில் வராத வண்ணம் அப்புறப்படுத்தப்பட்டன.
இயேசு திரைப்படமானது,1979ம் ஆண்டு இஸ்ரேல் நாட்டிலுள்ள 202 இடங்களில், 5000க்கும் மேற்பட்ட இஸ்ரேலியர்கள் மற்றும் அரேபியர்களைக் கொண்டு படம் பிடிக்கப்பட்டது. முடிந்த வரையிலும் 2000ம் ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு, வேதாகம நிகழ்வுகள் நடைபெற்ற அதே இடங்களில் காட்சிகள் படமாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
